Happy 4th everyone, just watch it.
It is amazing to me the amount of Drunk Driving Checkpoints that happen in the US There is an awful lot of taxpayer money that is tossed at these police agencies, for what in my view, is an unconstitutional act. Chief Justice Rehnquist voted the checkpoints Constitutional…kind of. It’s ok for "minimal intrusion on individual liberties” for the need and effectiveness.
Well they are effective. They have decreased drunk driving fatalities from 0.24% in 1991 to .000014% in 2007.
That is amazing. Violate the Constitution for twenty four one hundredths of one percent! Say that percentage out loud and tell me you are cool with them forking millions and millions into this every year.
Or, put it this way: would you fork over millions of dollars for a less than 1/4 of 1% return on your money, year after year?
We truly live in an amazing country.
Along the same lines...thank God I don’t live in this town. Talk about strict, considering the John Adams Quote in a letter to his wife: “I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated, by succeeding Generations, as the great anniversary Festival. It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more.”
God Bless the US, no really…Please bring us back to sanity.

Quote of the Day.
“The audit? It’s a bad idea,” said Tennessee Sen. Lamar Alexander, head of the Republican Conference in the Senate. “It’s a sorry day when the Congress superimposes itself on the Fed, nosing around in monetary policy.”
What does the Constitution have to say about that? Article I, Section 8: The Congress shall have power to...To coin money, regulate the value thereof, and of foreign coin, and fix the standard of weights and measures;
Dem politishuns is wreal smart!

Truely exactly what I expect for a "Journalist"
All I have to say is...WOW. Glen Beck did a decent retort (below)

Ron Paul...Still making way too much sense.
Don't get me wrong, this to me is a last line of defense. This is our right though..of course Big Brother won't tell you that, because you would be an "extremist".
Restriction of free thought and free speech is the most dangerous of all subversions. It is the one un-American act that could most easily defeat us - William Orville Douglas (October 16, 1898 – January 19, 1980) - the longest-serving justice in the history of the Supreme Court.
Attention: All Patriots are now Terrorists.
I know that I am way late on this, but here is the link to the PDF copy of the report.
All I have to say is...Told ya so! At least to those of you I talk to on a normal basis.
Wait for the Computer version of 9/11 and the subsequent "Patriot Act for the internet". You laugh, but its a comin'.
