Chief Justice Rehnquist voted the checkpoints Constitutional…kind of. It’s ok for "minimal intrusion on individual liberties” for the need and effectiveness.

Well they are effective. They have decreased drunk driving fatalities from 0.24% in 1991 to .000014% in 2007.

That is amazing. Violate the Constitution for twenty four one hundredths of one percent! Say that percentage out loud and tell me you are cool with them forking millions and millions into this every year.

Or, put it this way: would you fork over millions of dollars for a less than 1/4 of 1% return on your money, year after year?

We truly live in an amazing country.

Along the same lines...thank God I don’t live in this town. P. Morgan Chase will acquire Bank One, much like Bank of America's proposed merger with FleetBoston Financial, signifies the advent of nationwide commercial banks. It is a healthy, long overdue development. You know Old Crow Medicine Show, Plankeye, Starflyer, and of course one of my all time favorites The Lost Dogs (TLD). Somewhere around the 5th Dogs video I came across this. Unfortunately I had only heard some of Larry’s songs off CD, and thus never really got into him.
After watching this I highly regret that dumb youthful decision. Mike plays with TLD. TLD consists of a bunch of guys that have been there and done that, and now they play together as friends. I’m not going to pretend to know their mind, but it seems that now that they are past all of that, they are ready to just play what they want. Personally, I wish they would do an all gospel bluegrass album.

Anyways, enjoy this…And turn it up a little!

Reminiscing, and finding somethin new

I have been listening to a lot of bands that I used to love, and still do. I have been revisiting some classic Plankeye, as you can see by my "In the CD player now" section. That stuff really makes me miss singing in my old band, back home.

Also I have been listening to a ton of Starflyer 59, which takes me back to driving around my home town in my (Rick, you jerk) 1970 Volkswagon bus. Those were good times.

I was also recently introduced to some new (to me) bluegrass bands:

Chatham County Line

The Hackensaw Boys

In my explorations I also came across The Sinai Mountain Boys. Wow, this is what they call Jewgrass. I about died when I saw that, what a great sense of humor. I will let you look them up, as they still need some work.

So I was just wondering if anyone else has been listen and reminiscing on some tunes of the past or finding anything new out there that they enjoy.

Hope you enjoyed mine.

Check this out.

By the way, I almost forgot, please go to itunes and download an album by Tom Yarbrough. Over the last couple of years I have had many conversations with other on the subject. Usually goes something like, “yeah, I totally agree, abortion is wrong…except in the case of rape.”

Which always gets me.

To me that is a sign that someone is very uninformed on the subject, or just plain naive and has never really given it any REAL thought. Why would they? Those situations happen to other people. Right?

My line of questioning usually goes a few different ways from there. One of my new favorites is: So say you were driving down the road and all of a sudden you happened upon what looked to be a baby laying on the side of the road. What would you do? Leave it there to die?

Usually they begin to have a paradigm shift at this point.

Or, if they are on the militant “pro choice” side, they will just vainly argue that that is a ridiculous scenario, and that the two are hardly comparable.
Thank God, I have not met anyone like that yet. I have however listened to women on talk radio call in and argue in situations like that.

My body, my choice…you know…that old chestnut.

If they new anything, remotely, about science; it’s not their body at all. It is a total separate set of DNA, another life.

If you want to get into semantics about that, then you’re not worth the effort. God himself could come down from on high, look you straight in your eyes, and tell you it is wrong…and you would still argue.

My description for someone like that is: Insolent Child.

I don’t want to rant, I just see how people are so deceived by “thoughts” or what I like to call “well, I think” syndrome, or “headuprectumitis” if you want to get clinical about it.

It really amazes me.

So many things in society are anti-family, anti-community, etc, and sold as the Right thing, or the Loving thing to do.

One great resource on the issue is the Feb. ’07 issue of Whistleblower magazine.
I have another argument that most people will NOT argue with, but I don’t feel comfortable sharing that on the www.

Discuss amongst yourselves. (imagine ‘Coffee Chat’)

2nd Ammendment Update

Well, I finally started my search for a pistol. There again seem to be no prime candidates for the upcoming Presidential election.

I was ok with Fred till he hired two shady characters. He is ok, but again not what I am looking for.

Romney, ehh.

That short guy from New York City..."New York City, get a rope boys."

The "Incredible Huck", don't know if I could trust him, and he's a taxer.

Hunter...Like that's gonna happen, although cannot find anything I really object to.

Ron Paul, I am warming to. He does stand for most of what I like. Life, no Federal Reserve, and the Constitution.
Also after watching several interviews with him, and I am finally understanding his view of the war.
I'm not a socialist, and everyone of the democratic candidates are - so none of them.

It very much amazes me that our CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC is so misinformed or just compacent.

It is a very close parallel to the Church today. People say I'm going to the Church, meaning the building where the Church meets. Forgetting that, that is not The Church, WE ARE. The Church is to be about community, love, holding one another accountable, helping those in need. Today it is usually a Sunday ritual, the big building, super growing attendance, adding a horn section, and wireless mics, THE BIG SHOW.
Government is the exact same. Oh, thats the Government. NO, YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO CONTROL THE GOVERNMENT, not the other way around. It is there to issue money, for the general defense of the Nation, and to do what the private sector won't, can't, or shouldn't do.

Now people believe that we have the Second Amendment for hunting rights. No we have a second amendment so that the politicians don't rule us. To defend OUR American dream, that's your home and land and freedom to make something of yourself.
We should also be the one's on the border defending ourself from the invasion that has been going on for decades. It is perfectly legal for the Minutemen to be armed on the border, in fact the founding fathers would be right next to us if they were still alive.
Oh, but that's not cool in todays society. Guns are bad, they kill people.
Like the joke goes, "That's like Rosie blaming SPOONS on her being fat!" or the Larry the Cable Guy version (children don't read this): that's like blaming Hustler Magazine for my Carpal Tunnel Syndrome!
If people had any sense...

People just come up with new meanings for what has been excepted for centuries.

Well what about the poor? One word - Church
Homeless, sick, old, etc...Church

What about my healthcare? What about rebuilding New Orlean's? What about minimum wage, or when I get old and retire?

Let me see if I can explain this...NOT THE GOVERNMENTS JOB!

It is also not their job to play Robin Hood. Hell, Robin Hood only stole from the rich. Our Government steals everything from everyone.
At our request! We want, we deserve, we are entitled!
Did you go out and do it for yourself? Then maybe you don't deserve it.

Now don't get me wrong, everyone needs help sometime. The fact of the matter is, that it is not the governments job to do it.

We are the proverbial frog in the pot of water, and the heat was turned on long ago.
The only question that remains is: are you going to jump out or stew.

The nicest car WE have ever owned, Part duh

It's official, it's our minivan. The front driver's side was hit, but other than that, the cassette player, and the fallen headliner, there wasn't much wrong with it.

Over the last year we have had many issues with it, most of which revolve around the fuse panel under the hood. It is a small fortune to fix, so of course, I have fixed everything but the panel.

We thought it was about dead 4 or 5 months ago when it overheated so badly, that it burned the transmission fluid. Well after a new radiator, water pump, thermostat, trans filter, and fluid...needless to say I was about done with the car. But, it was our only 4 door and we have 4 kids and 2 grandkids under our roof. Our drive to work vehicle is an '85 CRX that I bought a little over a year ago.

We had been looking and looking, but never really had a peace about anything. It had gotten to the point that I looked into getting a car loan, which is something that I just don't do. Then all of a sudden the Saturn started running and driving better than it ever had before. Which kind of put us at ease, which was nice considering the stress of constant calls from my wife about how the car was doing this or broke down again.

We really just needed a minivan, and one that would run.

Well after a lot of strife and prayer and working on the car till all hours of the night, a nice woman that my wife works with is going to sell this to us for a price that we can afford.

God is faithful. We used all the wisdom and talent that He had put into our lives, and remained patient, and he gave his children a nice Christmas gift.

I told my wife when I first saw it, that it was too nice for us, and that it needs to be scraped against a few walls.

Things like this sincerely humble me. I mean, he isn't just handing it too us, we are using every little bit of money we have, plus a friend is donating 1/3 of the cost, and the owner is taking the last 1/6 in two weeks. So it still took some work, but He also provided me with very long hours at work for the last couple of months. In fact last week I logged about 78 hrs.

So this is a huge blessing.

Just thought I would take 15 and hopefully give someone some encouragement for those long rough periods in life. He is faithful and always goes before us.

Ode to lost friends

Recently, one of my very best friends told me that his wife came to him and wanted a divorce. Which, to put it lightly, caught me WAY off guard. My high school girlfriend and I set them up nearly 15 years ago. I don’t know what to say about it. I really hurt for him right now.

She didn’t care much for me at first, but one night she saw the real me come out. Since then she and I have been, what I considered, good friends.

I think they both could have done things better.

I stood by his side at his wedding. I was not his Best Man, but I was a groomsman.

I think I am one of very few who take that seriously. I won’t stand with just anyone. I am there to hold my brother accountable throughout his marriage.

Maybe I didn’t do my job to the best of my ability. I moved 12 hours away, traveled the country for 5 years with musicians, as a roadie or road manager or whatever they would pay me to do. I got lost in my own woes with women for a couple of years, till I found my love.

I always looked up to him, because he seemed to fall more in love with his wife as time went on. That was something special to me. Something I was shooting for.

Anyways, I guess he wasn’t meeting her needs (whatever those were: spiritual, emotional), but at the same time, this was happening for many years and she wasn’t (or maybe she did, I don’t know for sure) doing her job of communicating this to her husband.

It just goes to the old saying “you never know!”. Please help me in praying for healing in this relationship. Marriage is something very special, and should be guarded by both the Bride and the Groom. Not to mention the Bridesmaids and the Groomsmen talking with and being real friends to them.

Love each other as Christ loved the world. That is our blinding example.

Jenn and Jesse I love you both, and hate what has come between you. For my part, I am sorry, I let you both down, and for that I am ashamed.

With tomorrow comes hope, though.

I pray that you would both sit down and look into each others eyes, and confess to one another your downfalls, things you have been hiding, your hopes, fears, aspirations, so on and so forth. Just take some time. This isn’t something to be taken lightly. Nor given up on, ever.

If people are poisoning your mind, kick them to the curb. They are NOT friends. You are two good people, and this would be a horrible waste.

Start something new. Together.

Don’t let the world come between you, and you another statistic.

Labor Day

Speaking of labor, do any parents teach their kids work ethic any more. I have been dealing with some mid 20 year old children at work for over a year now, wow. What happened to men in the work place. I , admittedly, am not that old, but it used to be you earned your stripes through some good old fashioned ridicule. As time went on, you realized that you weren't all you thought you were, and you learned from those above you. Some of it was fun, some real.
Today I have two "men" that are almost like women. Very emotional, and touchy, temperamental...etc.
When did we quit raising men, and start raising slackers?
I should be this, I should get this.
WHY?!
WHY?!
WHY?!
What makes you so deserving? What have you done for this company that warrants your demands?
Bitch, whine, start rumors, take more sick days than I have vacation time!

As touchy as I am, I have dealt with them in a calm manner so far. I let them know that they were close to me going to my boss, and when that happens, you'll go home.
We will call you.

I wish more people would teach there boys to be men, whether it sticks or not.

Craziness

Sorry all, my household went from 4 to 7 people overnight. So needless to say I have been very busy lately.

I had been posting comments at another blog for a while, sticking up for the Answers in Genesis Creation Museum. It opened up May 28th, and this group called Defending the Constitution was protesting it. My main argument was that Evolution is based on presuppositions that are unexplainable, thus possibly supernatural. Their main argument with me was that origins had nothing to do with evolution and that the THEORY of evolution was like the THEORY of gravity. One invited me to jump off the Empire State Bldg. and then we could discuss the theory of Evolution.

I am a novice at this stuff, but I do understand some of the main arguments. These people were of course all from scientific backgrounds (I say that sarcastically). Finally towards the end of the time I was there, a man named Walt, who had a biology background, was answering all their arguments. So of course they started saying that he was using circular reasoning (pot calling the kettle black), and trying to tear him apart personally.

It got ridiculous so I got out. That’s one of the problems with the Internet, no accountability.

They say that they are there to defend the Constitution, but are really there to tear it apart, not unlike the ACLU. They were anti-Christian (evangelical) in the any true sense of Christian. If you were a real Christian, not someone taught Christianity, you were judging others, and it was ok for you to deceive people!

When I corrected them on that, and that they were thinking of Islam, they quoted 1 Cor 9:19! Wow, that shows a completely depraved and brainwashed mind, to me.

Anyway, pray for these people and our country’s protection from people like them. Since the early 1900 they have been entirely successful in tearing our country apart, and leaving us on the brink of socialism.

Keep watching out!

I am telling you yet again, watch it! There have been so many bills passing through state and federal government, that it is embarrassing to live in the the USA or call ourselves Americans.

As my buddy, Recovering has covered exclusively in his blog, Iowa one of many states making “gay” people a special class of citizen. Which all people are supposed to be equal under the law. See the 14th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States.

For those of us under 50, that is the fabled document by which we used as a guideline to govern our country. We used to teach it in our schools as an unmovable truth, by which was the standard of life and liberty. It was “common sense” that not everything had to be outlined and covered, not everything needed a law. That as a whole, we, should be intelligent enough to know the standards by which to live, and conduct ourselves as a society.

Of course through years of people getting in trouble for doing things that were not “illegal”, and challenging the validity of their crimes, relative truth has snuck in and taken over the thought processes of our society.

By reading the paper you would think that everyone thought that way. Maybe in large liberal cities, many people may. But, as I talk to many people on these subjects, most do not agree with relativism. In fact, most believe in an ultimate truth. Don’t mistake that I am only talking to my personal friends and churchgoers, I bring up the “taboo” subjects of politics and religion and such with most anybody I come across, even my bosses.

Two of the worst things I see coming over the horizon are: making “gay” people a special class of citizen, and making “gun crimes” a special class of crime.

Two examples for the two subjects:

1st. You hire a guy to work at a Christian High School, and he begins teaching that God condones the gay lifestyle. Whoa, you may have hired the wrong guy. He is not expressing the truth in love, but telling children that they are hate mongers if they oppose someone else’s lifestyle.

All of a sudden the law states that if you fire this guy, that is a hate crime, and discrimination.

All of a sudden your 1st freedom of the 1st amendment has been abolished.

This could go many different routes all of which bring much speculation into the process.

2nd. Someone commits a crime with a gun. What makes that worse than committing a crime with, oh I don’t know…say, a spoon? Could you imagine be subdued and being killed with a spoon.

That seems a lot more horrific than being shot to death. And why is a crime committed with a gun more deplorable than a crime being committed with a knife, or a baseball bat, or a chainsaw.

Crime is crime; it is almost always committed out of hate. We are all equally protected under the law.

If a church doesn’t want to hire you because your lifestyle goes against their beliefs of how one might conduct themselves, why would you want to work for an institution like that anyway.

Does that mean that I can be come a heroin addict, and if my employer finds that reprehensible behavior, and contrary to how he may believe life should be lived, he doesn’t have the right to fire me?

Or, maybe I drop the “f-bomb” in every paragraph of my speech?

People don’t make any sense anymore.

When 1 or 2% of the population controls the speech and thus lawmakers. That, my friends, is scary…not to mention embarrassing.

BE VIGILANT! THIS IS OUR COUNTRY, run by the majority not the minority.

You Go Girl...Literally!

This from Libertypost.org:

Two illegal aliens, Ralphel Resindez 23 and Enrico Garza 26, probably believed they would easily overpower a home alone 11 year old Patricia Harrington after her father had left their two story home.

It seems the two crooks never learned two things, they were in Montana and Patricia had been a clay shooting champion since she was nine. Patricia was in her upstairs room when the two men broke through the front door of the house. She quickly ran to her father's room and grabbed his 12 gauge Mossberg 500 shotgun.

Resindez was the first to get up to the second floor only to be the first to catch a near point blank blast of buck shot from the 11 year olds knee crouch aim. He suffered fatal wounds to his abdomen and genitals. When Garza ran to the foot of the stairs, he took a blast to the left shoulder and staggered out into the street where he bled to death before medical help could arrive.

It was found out later that Resindez was armed with a stolen 45 caliber handgun he took from another home invasion robbery. The victim, 50 year old David Burien, was not so lucky as he died from stab wounds to the chest.

How quickly we forget

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_uoamJvHu--U/RjetAvBkNBI/AAAAAAAAABs/A7JjaDmWvb4/s320/image5.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5059702934508680210" />
The year is 1907, one hundred years ago . . .

Theodore Roosevelt's ideas on Immigrants and being an AMERICAN in 1907.
"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag... A Bible, a Silver Dollar, a bottle of Whiskey, and an issue of Playboy.

The preacher figured, if the boy picks up the Bible, he will be a preacher like his father, and what a blessing that will be.

If he picks up the Silver Dollar, he will become a business man, which isn't so bad either.

If he picks up the bottle of Whiskey, he will be a no good drunk, a drain on society.

And finally, if he picks up the playboy, he will be a skirt chasin' scoundrel.

Well the preacher hid inside his son's closet, anxiously awaiting his son's return.

Soon enough the boy walks in and goes about his business of putting his school bag away, and his jacket up, and just as he is about to leave the room he notices the items on his desk.

He walks over and grabs the Bible and puts it up under his arm. Then grabs the Silver Dollar and puts it in his pocket. He then picked up the bottle of Whiskey and threw down a large swig. All the while looking at this months centerfold.

It was about that time that the preacher, under his breath, blurted out "Damn it, he's gonna be a Politician!

Shout out to Mr. Big Rig for that one. Ain't it the truth.

Watch It!

So it has been an eventful week. Went before the Sumner County School Board this week, because of an argumentative young lady (my step-daughter).

I think that my wife and I are, together, the devil incarnate.

The Vice Principal of her school made us out to be uncaring and neglectful parents.

All because whoever is in charge of keeping the parents up-to date on what is going on with the child in the school, doesn’t.

We have received a few calls and notes about detention and one ISS, because of tardiness and “refusing to do work”.

Well when I read those refusing to do work notes, I thought she just wasn’t turning in her schoolwork.

Well, a couple of weeks ago we were contacted, the school saying that she was caught in a lie, and that on her next offence she would be put before the school board for a disciplinary hearing.

I was like, for what? Turns out that when those couple of notes coming home meant that she was being verbally defiant to the teachers. This was the 1st time I had heard this.
So of course I asked for a fax of her complete disciplinary record.

My wife and I went through the report and really didn’t see anything too bad in there, from a parent of a slightly troubled teen’s perspective.

Well inevitably it wasn’t enough notice for us to correct the situation, one they said had been going on since January! Thanks for the notice in April!

Long story short the VP tried to make us out to be evil people, which fortunately they ignored and focused on the problems my stepdaughter was having instead.

It was amazing that I felt like we were in a trial and that we were guilty of not knowing what had been going on during school hours.

Then to top it all off the board was saying what THEY are going to do, what THEY were concerned with, and how THEY planned on correcting the situation.

We interrupted them and told them what we were going to allow, based on her attitude, and personal growth, and when.

I tell you they were a little taken back by the comment. They were speaking as if they had a say in OUR child’s life, but never the less, they corrected themselves promptly.

Of course as soon as we walked out, I went straight to the Director’s Office to file a formal complaint against the school’s VP.

I tell yall, if you don’t remain vigilant with YOUR government, they will take you and your Liberty from you. One day you will turn around and wonder what happened to the GOD GIVEN: LIFE, LIBERTY, and LAND.

Sometimes it very much frightens me. I love God and therefore this country, being that it really was the Divine Providence of God.

Whatever

Don Imus is a person that makes his living, visualizing people in caricatures, and then makes fun of them. You can see that they are interested, but not enough to pick up a book or magazine and research it.
This from a parental standpoint is very frustrating, because for some reason as a parent of a child in the public school district, you have no say. Only Big Brother does.

It is amazing how quickly we are losing control of our own lives, liberties, and personal freedoms.

I think that evolution is one of the underlying roots of the downfall of our children, and thus...society.
Teaching children that they are the result of chance and have no purpose or meaning, is inherently dangerous. They tilt the field to their advantage by controlling the language. Mixing truth with non-truth and selling the whole thing as truth is also one of their greatest tactics. Of course, when all else fails, they are the true scientists and everybody else doesn’t understand how science truly works.

I also think we are reaping the results of a bunch of spoiled bratty adults that do not want to ADMIT what is so apparent to most of us. I say spoiled and bratty, because I believe the root of this debate is mostly due to: Adults having a problem with their even being a God. If there is a God, then he is our Parent, of sorts, and we need to abide by His guidelines. Meaning, that as an adult, they still don't have a say over their own lives.
What they don't understand is, that we always have a choice. As a parent you have a lot of say over your children. BUT...you do not raise robots. They always have a say in how they act. We are here to train, not control. In the end we have no control of how our kids turn out, but someday they will reap the consequence or reward of their choices.

I digress...

One of the best presentations I have seen recently is an explanation of our created universe (which if you dissect UNI-VERSE, that in itself is very interesting).
It was a lecture presented by a former engineer of the US Military Space Program. He went into the position as an Atheist and came out a creationist and believer! All because of the data he observed didn’t make sense with the evolutionist views that he had been taught all his life.

Let me just stop here and get some feedback. What are your thoughts? Did I write this in too much of a rhetorical sense?

Slipping it past us again!

Just in case they slipped it past you too, the Dems are trying to pass the largest tax hike in history. Last night during dinner I brought that up again. This time it was clear that one of her classmates asked the question, “is Anne Frank gay?”. This is when the teacher confirmed ‘yes, she had seen copies of the original diary’. This doesn’t really nullify the point of my last post. I did some research on Anne Frank and the only place this is stated is in ‘Anne Frank the Critical Edition’, which by the way is unauthorized. Honestly I don’t know if she was ‘gay’ or ‘bi’ and really don’t see what relevance that has on history.

I think people in closed and or locked up situations over time, especially at that age could definitely cause some confusion. Anyway, just trying to keep it all straight and honest.

This is so Gay!

Honestly, what the crap! My stepdaughter came home the other day and said that her teacher brought in an excerpt from the ‘real’ Diary of Anne Frank, and that she was bi.

First of all, who cares, I mean are they pointing out that all the other people in history that are straight? What are they trying to push here? The local school system is supposed to be ‘in loco parentis’, which is Latin for in place of the parent.

Now honestly how many of you out there want the public school system to be pushing homosexual living and lifestyle on your kids. Should that kind of thing not be left up to us?

Personally I teach our kids to hate the sin, love the sinner. That is what Christ taught. I have plenty of friends with lifestyles that I do not at all agree with. Now I may consider some things worse than others, but when it comes down to it, all sin acceptance legislation and court rulings are DESTROYING the foundation of this Country.

There is also this story and also this story. Also, that in his opinion, the U.S. military should not condone any kind of immoral behavior.

Of course the open minded tolerant people of the “pro-gay” lobby have been spouting off how offended they are and …….blah blah blah.

Nancy Pelosi said, “We don’t need moral judgment from the chairman of the Joint Chiefs.”!

And of course all the people in congress are taking their humble opinions to the cameras to voice their thoughts on how wrong Pace was, respectfully of course, and that they fully support gays in the military.

All right, lets just start at the 1st logical place for the integration of gays in the military, openly.

First, no separate quarters for female recruits, soldiers, or officers. Everyone sleeps, eats, dresses, poops, everything unisex.

I mean we are all adults. Why should there be any boundaries at all?

Women shouldn’t be bothered by having men sitting next to them on the toilet, especially in the military where there are no partitions between the toilets.

They shouldn’t be uncomfortable that young hormone driven men are watching them get dressed, or sleeping a matter of inches away from them…right?

Well after that successful and beautiful transition then we should go ahead and bring the military into the modern day, and integrate the gays.

Yeah, Nancy, why would we want a leader to have strong morals.

Why wouldn’t we want people that find us sexually attractive to share our most personal times? (eg. Showering, using the toilet, sleeping, dressing, ect.)

Why…WHY!

Why do we allow people like this in our government?

Why do we allow a HUGE majority to dictate the language of arguments, and our morals!

Why are they so ‘Powerful’?

Answer? Because WE let them.

“You are coming to a sad realization…cancel or allow”

Surreal Nightmare

Some how we got to talking about the band the 77s today. Of course now that I have had a few days, and have thought of it often, it made me think of my own journey with God and the church.

Some of us tend to go through many feelings and stages with the church. Personally with me it is very much a love / hate relationship. I love to hate it and hate to love it.

I have been very cynical with the church and over the last few years God has been continually humbling me over the issue.

Literally if someone were to ask me if I were a “Christian”, I would say, “What do you mean by that?!”

This mostly came from not being raised in the church, then I started going in high school, because of a girl I liked (of course), and through a very unconventional Youth Director, and what I consider a whole line of divine guidance…I came to know God.

Once I really got it, and tried my darndest to bring the church together, I felt like I continually got crapped on. Which WILL happen. I have worked in many aspects of church life: from leading the youth, to cleaning the toilets, to going on the road with Christian bands, and after all of that I have come to the conclusion…we are all human.

Now while that may sound like an excuse, it’s not. It is our present condition. And no matter how much Lysol you put around the house, we all fart, and sooner or later someone is going smell it.

Right now I have erased this paragraph 2 times. Mostly because I want to moan and complain about all these things I have experienced over the years.

But I’m not going to. Trust me, some of it would shock anyone.

Mostly, all I have to say is…pray, pray for these scoundrels and rascals (one for you J.P.), because you are one of them. You may not be as bad, but sin is sin.

And at the risk of sound like a PSA, you can make a difference with your diligence and steadfastness in what is true and right. Man up! Be responsible for yourself. Part of that is communicating your needs and praises with your community of believers, and praying for those around you.

Anyway, I am going to go take another 1000mg of Vit. C and try to sleep.

I love all you dirty scoundrels and do pray for you, even if I never say it.

PS-I could use some prayer too.

Am I nuts?

I recently came across an article on a pastor out of The Socialist Republic of California (O.C. friends excluded). He talked about how he and some friends went on a historical tour of the East Coast.

While there he visited the Supreme Court of the USA. He noticed what he thought were several likenesses and carving of either Moses and the Ten Commandments or just the Commandments. One was blatantly obvious the others not so much, as several only had one tablet with roman numerals I thru X, not 2 tablets.

So he asked the guide and that person said those were representing the 10 amendments (The Bill of Rights).

He didn’t want to be rude, so he waited until the tour was over and went to the information booth and further questioned them. They said the same thing.

Well being the humble personality that he was he noted the depictions in question and went home to Cali.

When he got home he researched and found documentation that they were telling a lie!

He experienced this the whole trip.

You can read what he found here: http://www.lacconline.org/

Now that is a church’s website, so any of you scared or repulsed by those things, I gave you fair warning.

I have really been noticing these kinds of things, the older I get the more I see how truth is hidden under the mask of “separation of church and state”. Which is totally ridiculous.

Honestly in my opinion, this country WILL NOT SURVIVE a secular worldview in our government (which is supposedly you and me).

It can’t, the whole concept of Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness…is from God.
The God of the Bible that is, let me be perfectly clear.

We are incrementally destroying ourselves. For example: the other day I was on iTunes watching the little trailers for TV shows that they sell. In one they quoted the Declaration of Independence, and left out …endowed by our Creator…
They read the beginning and the after of it, but not that. Wow. We must be dangerous!

In case your wondering, you can go to the iTunes store, click TV shows, click History Channel, click Modern Marvels, and finally double click ‘The Statue of Liberty’

Also if you need a refresher course (it’s in the 2nd paragraph) : http://www.archives.gov/national-archivesexperience/charters/declaration
_transcript.html

Anywho…any thoughts, and yes,…you may be right…I may be crazy…but it just may be a lunatic your looking for! Sorry.

Testing...one...one..two...testing

This blog is for my ever-growing community of friends, yes all 2 of you and counting.
